“Glad Street Marunouchi” is a new media site that officially launched at the end of October 2021.
Operated by Proseed Inc., a company that supports customer experience (CX) improvements, the media’s mission is to highlight and share the essence and value of excellent service across various industries. Proseed envisions the platform as a space where professionals involved in CX can explore and discover what constitutes “service excellence.”
FLOURISH supported this initiative through both planning and creative direction.
Key Contributions
Our creative and coordination skills were particularly put to the test in the following three areas:
1. Naming and Media Logo Design
Rather than handling the concept development alone, we took a collaborative approach—offering guidance and feedback on questions raised by the internal project team. This allowed the team to maintain a strong sense of ownership post-launch.
For the naming, we submitted a proposal as part of an internal naming contest. Drawing on the concept of “delightful services that bring real-time joy,” we created a name that combined the idea of ideal services and a vibrant “street” where such experiences gather:
→ Glad Street Marunouchi
The logo was designed in multiple variations to reflect the name’s intention, including:
- A smiling face motif to represent joy
- A map-inspired icon to suggest a street of delight
- A crosswalk-like design symbolizing a path of happy service moments
2. Site Color Scheme
Initially, the site structure was designed with the assumption that users would navigate to the top page after reading individual articles. The original layout minimized the “media feel” on the homepage.
However, as the direction shifted toward full-fledged media operation, the client requested a more editorial and media-like presence. In response, we restructured the homepage to highlight content more effectively.
The layout was changed from:
- First view with a visual and catchphrase, followed by an intro to CX
To:
- First view featuring picked-up articles, followed by the intro to CX
This redesign significantly improved the site’s usability and helped reinforce its identity as a media platform.
